My dear Diaryland, lovely to see you again! I've been gone for quite awhile. First it was the trip to San Francisco, then a whole bunch of untimely server errors kept me from updating.
My much-needed vacation was excellent. Here are some highlights:
*trying to sleep despite the unsettling creaks and groans of the thirty-six story hotel we were staying in. Apparently it was built to be flexible, so in the fifty mph winds that happened while we were there, the building was literally blowing in the wind. *excellent food. The restaurants there truly are amazing...we tried everything from dim sum to Italian to Thai, and it was all most tasty. The climax of our culinary tour of San Fransisco occured our last night there, when we ate at Gary Danko to celebrate Dave's parents 25th anniversary. Three words say it all: chocolate hazelnut moussecake. Yum. *San Francisco is a mecca for shopping. I scored a $350 DKNY jacket for $70. Plus Dave bought virtually an entire new outfit. Much shopping was accomplished during our stay. *the three-hour personal tour that involved a guy named Ernie driving us around in his four door sedan. It was actually quite pleasant. He drove us across the Golden Gate Bridge to the other side of the bay where there were some beautiful views of the city and the ocean. Plus, we drove past Robin Williams' house! *the best part was probably just the quality time I spent with Dave and his family. I know it's cheesy and all, but it really was nice to get away and be together without any distractions. Aww...
